Pilgrimage, the Journey to Christian Unity

8 - 15 May 2008
Fatima - Ecumenical Friends of Fatima Association

This is the first of Fr Malcolm Gray's important twice-yearly pilgrimages to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, visiting the visionaries' birthplace, the site of the visions, and the famous statue, the crown of which contains the bullet fired in the attempt on Pope John Paul II's life. Fatima is now a special place of thanksgiving for the life and ministry of Pope John Paul VI, who believed the aid of Our Lady of Fatima spared his life, and is thus closely linked with the work of the papacy for reconciliation, forgiveness, understanding and dialogue. Over the years, Fr Gray, as a priest in the Church of England, has built up close and warm relations with the local Catholic Church at the shrine in Fatima. This regular pilgrimage is therefore significant for ecumenical relations, spiritual ecumenism through devotion to Our Lady, and the quest for visible Unity, now placed at the heart of the mission of Pope Benedict XVI.

Now fully booked. Further details are available from Fr Malcolm Gray, 16 Alpine Way, Stanmore, Middlesex HA7 3HU. Telephone: 020 8950 7860; or to email click here.
