Lord Jesus Christ,
you said to your apostles,
'Peace I leave you; my peace I give you.'
Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church;
and grant her the peace and unity
which is according to your will;
who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

By your power Lord,
gather together your scattered flock
under the one authority of your Son:
that the design of your love may be accomplished
and that the world may know, the one true God,
and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. Amen.

• The Holy Father's General Intention
  That in our time, unfortunately marked by many episodes of violence, the Church's bishops and priests may continue to indicate the way of peace and understanding among peoples.

  That the Church in Africa may become an authentic witness of the Good News of Jesus and be committed in every nation to the promotion of reconciliation and peace.

  That faithful to the sacrament of matrimony every Christian family may cultivate the values of love and communion, in order to be a small eveangelicsing community, sensitive and open to the material and spiritual needs of others.

    that we may seek to dedicate all things to God.
  • September 21 - St Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist:
    that we may be guided by the Holy Spirit in our witness to the Gospel.
  • September 29 - St Michael, Gabriel, Raphael the Archangels:
    that we may uphold the message of hope and love in our witness to the Gospel. Pray too for the work of St Gabriel's House, Czestochowa.

  that the Synod of Bishops may help bishops and theologians, as well as catechists and pastoral workers engaged in the service of the Word of God, transmit with courage the truth of the Faith in communion with the entire Church.

  That in this month dedicated to the missions, through promotional activities of the Pontifical Missionary Workds and other organisations, the Christian may feel the need to participate in the Church's universal mission with prayer, sacrifice and concrete help.

    that we may never forget our call to pray for the Unity of all Christians.

  That Christian communities in Asia, contemplating the face of Christ, may find the most suitable way to announce him in full fidelity to the Gospel, to the peoples of that vast continent, so rich in culture and ancient forms of spirituality.
